Yucca Mountain
Draft Environmental Impact
Statement (DEIS)

      The National Environmental Policy Act provides a process for examining and evaluating the potential environmental impacts of a proposed action. The process is accomplished through the preparation and publication of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).  For the Yucca Mountain project, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has proposed to construct, operate and monitor, and eventually close a repository at Yucca Mountain.

     The EIS process provides the public with the opportunity to review and comment on DOE's EIS.  Specific dates, times and locations for the EIS public hearings are listed below.
